IP ACTED AS THOUGH SOMEONE ELSE WAS IN THE HOUSE WITH HER AND THE FEMALE LEFT. NOTHING STOLEN. DESC. F.W. 35/40 5’6-5’7 TALL HEAVY BUILD WEARING A PINK T SHIRT AND A LONG WHITE COTTON SKIRT

8.10.07 KING ST STOCKTON BURGLARY REPORT OF MALE AT THE DOOR ASKING TO USE THE TOILET. STATED HIS NAME WAS GARY. MALE THEN CAME INTO FRONT ROOM AND ASKED IP FOR A CUDDLE. MALE REACHED OVER IPS SHOULDER THEN MADE OFF. IP REALISED HER PURSE WAS WHAT MALE HAD REACHED FOR WHEN SHE FOUND PURSE WAS MISSING DESC. M.W. 5’6-5’8 DARK HAIR WEARING DK BLUE TRACKSUIT AND WHITE TRAINERS.

DURHAMS AREA REPORT OF A MALE AT THE DOOR STATING HE WAS FROM THE WATERBOARD. MALE ALLOWED IN AND MONEY WAS STOLEN FROM THE HOUSE. DESC. M.W. 5’6 LARGE BUILD WEARING A GREEN ANORAK. IT IS BELIEVED THAT A BLUE BMW ON 07 PLATES WAS SEEN NEAR TO THIS INCIDENT

6.10.07 DINSDALE AVE MIDDLESBROUGH TS5 REPORT OF A FEMALE WITH A PRAM KNOCKING OF DOORS SAYING SHE IS RAISING MONEY FOR CHARITY. DESC. F.W. 19-20YRS, LONG BLOND HAIR, WEARING A LIGHT COAT

9.10.07 BRENDA RD HARTLEPOOL REPORT OF MALE AT THE DOOR TO READ THE GAS AND ELECTRIC METERS. MALE KNEW WHERE METERS WERE AND APPEARED TO CHECK THEM THEN LEAVE. CALLERS SUSPICIONS AROUSED WHEN BOTH UTILITY COMPANYS’ STATED THAT NOONE SHOULD BE IN THE AREA CHECKING METERS.

DESC M. W STOCKY, NOT VERY TALL, WEARING DARK CLOTHING. HE WAS SEEN TO GET INTO A SMALL BLACK CAR WHERE ANOTHER MALE WAS SAT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT
17.8.07 THE GREEN, H’POOL REPORT OF SUSPECTED BOGUS FISH SELLERS DRIVING AROUND THE AREA IN A WHITE CAR/DERIVED 'Y 'REG VAN. THE MALES GOT OUT OF THE VAN AND WERE SEEN TO PUT MAGNETIC SIGNS ON THE SIDE OF THE VAN.
17.8.07 GLADSTONE ST, SALTBURN REPORT OF TWO MALES GOING DOOR TO DOOR STATING THAT CEMENT WAS COMING OFF RESIDENTS ROOFS, AND ATTEMPTING TO PRESSURISE PEOPLE INTO HAVING WORK DONE. AGED 40 YRS, WEARING YELLOW JACKETS , HAD LADDERS ON VAN

19.8.07 STANMORE AVE, M’BRO REPORT OF MALE TELLING OCCUPANT THAT HIS BALL HAD GONE INTO THE BACK GARDEN. THE OCCUPANT LOCKED THE FRONT DOOR AND WENT TO INVESTIGATE, BUT FOUND NO BALL THERE. AT THIS POINT A SECOND MALE WAS SEEN AT THE CUT TO THE SIDE OF THE OCCUPANTS HOUSE. DESC 1/ M W 17/18YRS, SHORT DARK HAIR, WEARING ALL BLUE TRACKSUIT, ON A BIKE. 2/ M W 19/20YRS, WEARING A RED TRACKSUIT, CARRYING A BIKE FRAME WITH NO WHEELS

KILDWICK GROVE, M'BRO - REPORT OF A HOME IMPROVEMENT COMPANY ATTENDING THE ADDRESS STATING THAT THE ELDERLY OCCUPANT STILL OWED THEM MONEY (IN EXCESS OF £1000) FROM WORK WHICH THEY CARRIED OUT THE PREVIOUS YEAR! THE MALES WERE SEEN TO COLD CALL ON VARIOUS ELDERLY RESIDENTS ADDRESSES IN THE AREA .NO DESCS AVAILABLE

7.8.07 ELWICK RD, H’POOL REPORT OF A MALE ATTENDING THE ADDRESS. TELLING THE OCCUPANT THAT HE HAD SEEN TWO YOUNG LADS THROWING STONES AT THE BACK OF THE PREMISES AND THAT THEY HAD GONE INTO HER GARDEN. THE MALE FOLLOWED THE ELDERLY WOMAN THROUGH THE KITCHEN AND INTO THE BACK GARDEN, THEN BACK THROUGH THE HOUSE. WHEN HE LEFT, SHE NOTICED HER PURSE/CARDS MISSING. DESC M. W 5.6, MEDIUM BUILD, EARLY 20’S, SHORT DARK HAIR, WEARING A WHITE TRACKSUIT TOP, AND POSSIBLY DARK BOTTOMS

8.8.07 LABURNUM RD, REDCAR REPORT FEMALES GOING DOOR TO DOOR STATING THEY WERE COLLECTING MONEY FOR CHARITY. APPEARED SUSPICIOUS, STOP CHECKED BY POLICE IN THE AREA. DESC BOTH AGED ABOUT 11 YRS, LONG DARK HAIR, AND WEARING JEANS AND WHITE TOPS

8.8.07 BAPTIST ST, HPOOL, REPORT OF FEMALE CONTACTING ELDERLY MALE VIA TELEPHONE, CLAIMING TO BE FROM DARLINGTON BUILDING SOCIETY, AND EXPLAINING A NEW SAVINGS PLAN. AS HE ALREADY SAVED WITH THIS BUILDING SOCIETY AND BECAUSE OF HIS MOBILITY DIFFICULTIES AN ARRANGEMENT WAS MADE FOR THE FEMALE TO ATTEND HIS HOME THE SAME DAY, WHEREBY HE HANDED OVER £1520 CASH TO INVEST IN THE SAID SAVINGS BOND. LATER ENQUIRIES WITH DARLINGTON BUILDING SOCIETY HAVE PROVEN THAT THE FEMALE IS NOT ONE OF THEIR STAFF. NO DESC TO DATE

THEY ASKED TO SEE THE LADIES UTILITY BILLS AND ACCOUNT DETAILS, AND WERE EXAMINING THE PAPERWORK WHEN THE LADIES DAUGHTER ARRIVED AT THE ADDRESS. THEY FLASHED SOME FORM OF ID AT HER AND QUICKLY MADE THEIR EXCUSES TO LEAVE. DESC 1/ MALE, WHITE, 5’7, BLONDE SPIKEY HAIR, RED MARK UNDER HIS EYE, 20YRS, SLIM BUILD, WEARING A SHIRT AND LIGHT TROUSERS. 2/ MALE, WHITE , DARK HAIR, STOCKY, 5’6 TALL, WEARING BLACK TROUSERS AND A WHITE SHIRT, CARRYING A CLIPBOARD


10.8.07 THE GLEBE, STOCKTON REPORT OF A VERY ELDERLY GENTLEMAN COMPLAINING ABOUT HARASSMENT FROM A MALE ASKING TO DO WORK ON HIS ROOF. THE UNKNOWN MALE KEPT INSISTING THAT THERE WERE LOOSE TILES ON THE ROOF AND WANTED £400 TO REPLACE THEM. THE ELDERLY MAN STATED THERE WERE THREE MALES IN A NEW LOOKING WHITE VAN. AT ONE POINT ONE OF THE MALES GOT ONTO THE ROOF AND WAS WAVING HIS FISTS AROUND AND KEPT TELLING THE ELDERLY MAN THAT THE ROOF NEEDED REPAIRING. NO DESCS AVAILABLE


10.8.07 THE CRESCENT, SALTBURN REPORT OF A MALE ATTENDING THE ADDRESS AND CLAIMING HE WAS FROM BT. HE SAID THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE JUNCTION BOX AND HE NEEDED TO CHECK IT. HE HAD ID, BUT WAS NOT AWARE OF WHICH SERVICE PROVIDER THE IP WAS WITH. NO ENTRY GAINED, MALE APPEARED SUSPICIOUS.


14.8.07 TAYLBONT GROVE, INGLESBY BARWICK, STOCKTON REPORT OF A MALE GOING DOOR TO DOOR, ASKING RESIDENTS IF HE HAD BEEN TO THEIR ADDRESS A FEW WEEKS AGO SELLING DOUBLE GLAZING. WHEN INFORMED THAT HE HADN’T HE JUST LEFT WITHOUT ANY EXPLANATION. MALE SEEN ALSO LOOKING IN PEOPLES WINDOWS. SEEN IN A SILVER RENAULT VAN. DESCRIBED AS ‘CHAV’ LOOKING.

1. 29/7/07 MILLFIELD CLOSE, THORNABY - AT 20.35HRS, ELDERLY FEMALE OCCUPANT WAS ON THE TELEPHONE TO HER DAUGHTER, WHEN THE FRONT DOOR BELL RANG. SHE TOLD HER DAUGHTER TO HOLD WHILE SHE ANSWERED IT. THE MALE AT THE DOOR TOLD HER HE WAS FROM THE WATERBOARD AND THAT THERE HAD BEEN A 'WATER EXPLOSION' IN THE AREA AND THAT HE NEEDED TO LOOK AT SOME PIPES AND WIRES. HE SHOWED SOME FORM OF ID WHICH SHE THOUGHT LOOKED LIKE A GAS CARD. SHE WAS ASKED TO CLEAR OUT THE CUPBOARD UNDER THE SINK AND WAS TOLD THAT SHE WOULD BE WITHOUT WATER FOR SOME HOURS, SO SHE BEGAN FILLING UP POTS AND PANS . AT SOME POINT THE MALE TOLD HER TO HANG UP THE PHONE, AND THE LADY ALERTED HER DAUGHTER TO THE ALLEGED WATER PROBLEM. (A FAMILY MEMBER THEN SET OFF TO SEE IF SHE WAS OK). WHILST THE MALE WAS DISTRACTING THE LADY, A SECOND MALE CAME INTO THE BUNGALOW AND SEARCHED THE BEDROOM AREA. BY THE TIME THE FAMILY MEMBER ARRIVED AT THE ADDRESS, BOTH MALES HAD LEFT, THE PREMISES HAD BEEN SEARCHED, UNTIDILY , AND FORTUNATELY NO MONEY WAS STOLEN. DESC 1. M. HE ASKED THE ELDERLY FEMALE TO EMPTY THE CUPBOARDS AND RUN THE COLD TAP. HE THEN SHOUTED TO A SECOND MALE TO 'GET THE RODS'. A NEIGHBOUR KNOCKED AT THE DOOR AND THIS FRIGHTENED THE MALES, CAUSING THEM TO RUN THROUGH THE BACK GARDEN AND ONTO NEARBY GREENS LANE. THEY WERE SEEN TO GET INTO A WHITE CITROEN MOTOR VEHICLE.
